A first hand experience of racing with most of the top runners in Singapore
– Didn’t have enough time for warm up before the race so just went straight to the start line. The race began. After running for about a 200m, I was just not comfortable running with a shoe. Stopped, took off the shoe, threw it at the corner and continued with the run, barefooted. I was running about 100m behind the pack of 6 people with the first runner ahead by 200m.
With 500m to go, I was 2nd behind with a gap of about 100m. Speeding up, I closed the gap and won 2nd place with a time difference of 3seconds from the first runner- Mok Ying Ren.
Sunday morning, 8km checked. My first competitive road-race with proper training, won 2nd place with a time of 26mins 45sec.
Thank you Coach and my Dad (first time at my race) for being there to support me. Thank you to those who cheered for me and wished me before the race.
Great running experience with most of the top runners in Singapore!
